Enhancing Peer Support Skills for Effective Crisis Management
Today, we face a unique blend of stressors and disasters with limited psychological resources. The Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) continuum offers strategic crisis responses to high-risk populations, holistically building their resilience. Crisis Informed Peer Para-Counseling (CIPP) enhances peer counselors’ support tools, enabling them to collectively cope with trauma and disasters. CIPP serves as the one-on-one follow-up service to Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). This approach addresses the increasing need for strategic crisis responses, expanding peer counselors’ capabilities to build resilience in at-risk populations.
