    QPR has been recognized by SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices. Although NREPP has been discontinued by SAMHSA, QPR is a registered "Legacy Program." This designation recognizes QPR as a “program with evidence of effectiveness.”

    What is the refund policy?

    Due to the advance costs in scheduling training, no refunds are offered. However, if you are unavailable to attend your scheduled course, don't worry. You can apply your unused registration toward any future training.

    Can I transfer my registration to another person?

    Yes and no. You cannot just allow someone else to take your course. The credit and certificate will be in your name. To transfer, reach out to me and I will take care of the details.

    Are sound cards required for the QPR training?

    Yes. The QPR Gatekeeper Training include the instructor teaching by way of lecture and videos.

    What is a QPR Gatekeeper?

    Gatekeeper training teaches people to identify individuals who are showing warning signs of suicide risk and help these individuals get the services they need.

    If I try to help someone who is suicidal, will I be legally liable?

    If you are a healthcare professional or certified or licensed counselor, the answer is “yes” – especially if you are already in a professional relationship with the person. If you are a lay citizen and simply trying to help avert a tragedy, the answer is “no.” (Note: these are not legal opinions, but based on consultations with attorneys familiar with this area of the law.)
